I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S NOT BUTTER!   01 AUGUST 2008
Renowned for their blitzing live shows, Brisbane band Shifter are ready to ROCK South-East Queensland stages this August with the launch of their brand new single ‘Helicopter’ from the long-awaited forthcoming album ‘Heartache Time’, their first Australian release since Shifter’s signature tune ‘Butter’ took out top honours in Triple J’s Unearthed Competition! After touring the USA extensively over the past few years, the band settled down to record the new album ‘Heartache Time’ in the splendour of Bryon Bay’s legendary 301 Studio with American Producer Rob Feaster (Johnny Cash, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Morphine, The Cars, Jack Johnson, Blink 182, No Doubt), which is scheduled for release late October. But there’s no need to wait until October to catch a glimpse of the boys in action, as Shifter will be bringing their high-energy live show to Bar 388 in Fortitude Valley on Friday 1 August, and then heading down the coast the next night (Aug 2) to bring the party to the Swell Tavern in Burleigh Heads. ‘Helicopter’ has already been turning heads and attracting interest in the USA and Japan with its infectious lasciviousness, it’ll make you wanna dance in your pants. Lucky fans might just score themselves a signed copy of the new single that the band will be giving away at the shows. Even luckier fans might get lucky! (…with other fans)
